Why are we obligated to pay for electricity, venue corkage, pictorial fees, and crew meals & transportation during the wedding in the Philippines?   When planning a wedding in the Philippines, several considerations come into play, particularly concerning the venue, chosen package, and engaging suppliers for the event. These costs may not always be included in the all-inclusive package offered by the wedding planner.   In comparison, certain countries offer comprehensive packages, often at a higher cost. In the Philippines' context, we are well aware of the challenges tied to currency conversion. The exchange rate between the peso and other currencies, like the dollar, can significantly vary. Due to the peso's relatively lower value, specific package elements aren't fixed, such as corkage fees. These fees fluctuate based on their variable nature, calculated according to actual consumption during the event. For example, electricity power charges at the venue might exceed

Tips on Preparing for Your Prenuptial Shoot: Creating the Concept

A prenuptial shoot is a wonderful way of commemorating your wedding. It is also a special way of imprinting your flair on photos that you share with your family and friends. Another, more sentimental reason to have them is that you can show these photos to your children in the future to show the love that you share with your spouse (and how good you looked when you were young!).

A pre-shoot is a short photo session with your wedding photographer approximately three to six months before your wedding. The main goal of the pre-shoot is to get used to being in front of the camera, build rapport with your photographer, and receive a lovely set of romantic photographs well before your wedding.

Tips on Preparing for Your Prenuptial Shoot: Creating the Concept

1.   Look back to your story. Make time with your partner to sit down and look back at your old photos together and just soak in the nostalgia of how it all started. Look back to the moments you both consider to be the highlights of your relationship. As you review the photos, you might remember a special place or event that can spark an idea for your photoshoot.

2. Identify your shared interests. Your interests are such a rich source of inspiration. They can be activities that you both enjoy, such as working out, cooking, visiting galleries, or going to concerts. Or you can be inspired by your favorite movie, book, or music and incorporate it in your prenuptial shoot. Your interests will not only make you comfortable with being in front of the camera but will also make it enjoyable for both of you.

3. Find a special place. The location of your shoot can be inspiring on its own. Whether it is a picturesque sunrise at the beach or just the café at the corner of the street, these places evoke romance especially when it is a setting of a special moment. Perhaps it’s where you both first met or the place where you got engaged. When you find the right spot, see if it has at least four areas where you can shoot. Also, make sure to secure all the needed permits to shoot in the place.

4.  Go outside the box. To make your prenuptial shoot extraordinary, challenge your ideas by going for something new for the both of you. Use art magazines and galleries, and even everyday life, to find inspiration and ideas you can add to the theme you already have in mind. Push yourself to think of unusual ways you can have beautiful photos and you’ll be surprised at how creative you can be.

5. Fine-tune your ideas. It is not enough to have a variety of ideas. You need to put them together into a cohesive concept that your photographer can develop and execute into stunning pictures. With the ideas you’ve gathered, trim them to their base essentials and see how you can string them all together into a single unified concept. It’s better to work with an idea that is flexible rather than push for one that is limiting. As much as possible you and your partner should have equal inputs on the concept to make it comfortable and pleasing to both of you.

It may be simple and effortless as they look but pre-wedding shoots are not that simple. There are a few things that you need to consider and pay attention to before the shoot even takes place. Study these dos and don'ts carefully to help you prepare the perfect shoot.

Do

Do not

Research and know what concept/theme you prefer

Go extremely different look, like having a sudden change in your hairstyle and hair color. These extreme decisions will make you look not quite like yourself in the pictures.

Choose the right outfit/wardrobe, location and suitable time for the shoot.

Bring an umbrella, water, and sunscreen if you choose an outdoor shoot.

Exaggerate your wardrobe, makeup, and styling. If you plan to use glamorous gowns make sure it fits your concept and location or not you’ll end up sweating if you chose a hot location for the photo session.

Schedule your pre-wedding shoot ahead of time. 3 to 6 months ahead before your wedding.

Schedule your pre-wedding session too close to your wedding day to avoid an adrenaline rush.

Expect a whole day smiling, acting, standing, and getting multiple takes during the shoot.

Skip meals and have more rest a day before the shoot. A photoshoot requires a lot of energy and time, so you must prepare your body for it.

Be on time! Because photographers know the right timing for the sunlight to achieve the right concept you want. And consider that there might be weather changes so better to finish early than to waste a day.

Forget to coordinate to your photographers the things you have to prepare for the shoot.
